Juniper: world’s most laid-back kitten.

Someone seriously needs this kitten, for reals. Before I get to the pics, here is the Official Kitten-Pimping Information:
Juniper (named for Juniperus virginiana, the Virginia cedar tree) goes to the vet on Tuesday, where he will get a check-up, tested for FIV and FeLV, a guess at his age, and then his rabies/distemper vax. We will then schedule his neutering! After neutering, he will be available to a good home, with the following provisos:

1) He always has a place here. If the new owner cannot keep him for any reason, I will not ask questions, I will not judge, I will not grouse on my blog. I will just come get the cat and bring him back to the Manor.

2) I will drive up to four hours from Fredericksburg, VA to put him in a new home. This covers most of the state of Virginia, a good chunk of Maryland, a good chunk of West Virginia, and even goes as far as Gettysburg, PA (I take the back roads to avoid I-95).

3) He must be an indoor kitty. Juniper has lived the outdoor life and now deserves to be safe in a climate-controlled environment.

4) No declawing. It’s mean. Just no.

5) Yes, it is December. Yes, he is adorable. But you know what? Surprise kittens make crap Christmas gifts, y’all. Therefore I will need to be in contact with the actual person with whom young master Juniper will be living. I do not care how well you know your friend/roomie/spouse/partner/parent/sibling/dentist. Juniper is not a Christmas present.

6) As of right now I have no idea how he does with other critters, because he’s still in quarantine. Look for more info after his check-up and FIV/FeLV testing!

And now…ON TO THE KITTEN PICTURES! Because that’s what you wanted anyway, right? Proof that Juniper is the World’s Most Laid Back Kitten.

Juniper, a black and white kitten, lays upside down on the hands and forearms of a woman. His eyes are open and looking at something off camera. He is not panicking, but is totally relaxed. If there were a soundtrack, you would hear purr. It is the most adorable thing ever.

Juniper, still on his back, looks up at the woman holding him, his adorable leetle white paws spread wide as if he is telling her he caught a fish and it was THIS BIG.

Juniper, STILL on his back, has stretched his front paws out in what would be a creditable SUPER KITTEN pose if he were not, y'know, upside down and purring.

How cute is that, seriously? Just LOOK at this little fella. Someone out there needs this kitten to make their life complete, I know it. All we have to do now is get the word out! If you can’t take him, can you post him up on Twitter, your blog, Facebook, anywhere?

  1. […] Please see this post for the skinny on adopting the kitten, who has been christened Juniper because it’s nicer […]

  2. I’m interested in him. I’m about 3ish hours South of you. You can either email me or follow me on Twitter and talk that way…or email me and I’ll send you a phone number.

  3. Quite possibly the cutest silly-putty style kitty I’ve ever seen. If I lived anywhere close to VA, this kitten would be MINE right now! :) Good luck, with looks and attitude like that, he will definitely find a family.

  4. What a sweetheart! Does he purr up a storm, too? If Ms. T and I were in the position to adopt a kitty, we’d drive down from NYC to get him.

    1. He purrs like it is going out of style, seriously.

  5. If someone further from Gettysburg and points east/north would like to adopt him, I volunteer my services for transporting. I don’t live far from Gettysburg and would gladly transport to a forever home (though I wish I could have him myself, omg).

  6. I can’t take him because I have 5 and am over 2k miles away, but I wanted to commend you on the stipulations you place on the new potential owner. They are important and life saving requirements that all pet owners should adhere to.

    I wish you well Juniper!

  7. He is too cute. If I didn’t live on the West Coast I’d want to come nab him. I will link this on my FB.

  8. I can’t take him as we just adopted our first kitty (who is dang cute), but I will definitely post this on Twitter and FB (found this from a friend who FB-posted). Congrats in advance to the lucky future owner of this incredibly adorable kitteh!

  9. I’m seriously interested in this kitty…but I’m in the Chicago area…he looks like my beloved Panda (RIP) whom I lost 2 years ago…and I need a younger cat to be a playmate for my current youngest (2 years old). I have a 10 year old too….

He’s SO cute…and sounds purrrfect…how the heck would we get him here??

  10. I spoke to my brother about Juniper tonight. He’s going to talk to his girlfriend and see if it’s a possibility. I’ll let you know. He has the link to your blog and will be back to look at the photos. He agrees that Juniper is just about the cutest thing ever.

  11. Look at that face !!!! Andrea you should keep him and be his forever mom……I would take him in a heartbeat, but I just rescued a momma (who someone dumped her) and she had 5 precious babies !!!! so with my 3 boys jasper , cesar and norm….i now have vinnie, jack, fozzy, bella rose and lucy lou….and of course their awesome momma pricilla… and i have a ferel named Charlie who i take care of also…he is my baby too…..i tried to find them homes but now i am too in love with them….so i am in the process of neutering and spaying……Juniper is so precious…he looks like my Norm !!!! god bless you and what you are doing to help these kitties…..

    1. Alas, if I keep him then I have less space for future fosters. So I will send him off to a forever home with my love and best wishes, and bring the next kitty in!

      1. You are a special person for what you do !!! I hope one day soon to open a pet sanctuary… kill of course !!! Thank you for your kindness !!!! Is Juniper still available ??? how far is half way to Akron OH ???

  12. I’ll crosspost shortly.

As always, if I can be of assistance in transit, I’d be happy to help however I can. I’ll be in Annapolis in March…

  13. How adorable! I wish I could take him but I already have too many kittehs x.x Some day when I don’t live in an apartment, I would love to foster homeless kittehs…

No, who am I kidding? That would never work… I wouldn’t want to let go of any of them. =/

  14. Oh, gods! I wish I weren’t all the way in Georgia! I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for a good kitty to bring home and he seems so perfect):

  15. Andrea, if you still have him, I will take him. I live in Alexandria so it’s a bit of a drive but not irredeemably so, and am in need of a kitten, all stipulations and provisos agreed wholeheartedly and accounted.

I would like to give the widdle guy a loving home. Love to him and blessings to you.

  16. […] I got e-mail from Juniper‘s people and it included PICTURES! Oh my goodness, the tiny laid-back kitten has become a big […]

  17. I’ve been out of touch for awhile, but wanted to give you an update. :)

Juniper has grown up to become the World’s Most Laziest cat. :D He is so secure in the fact that he owns my daughter that he will flop down and show his belly to Chey to be rubbed… right out of her reach. Because he knows she will get up and come to him.

Cairo is still the baby boy of my heart that he was when you brought him to me. He is definitely a Mama’s boy and has to know where I am at all times. He just doesn’t get that he is now too big and too heavy to curl up and sleep on my chest like he used to as a baby. When I’m having a bad pain day or a flare-up, he sticks close to my side, letting me know how much he loves me. Also, his favorite toy is a flower hair clip. I don’t know why, but it was something I was going to throw away and not only did he claim it, but it became his Baby.

When I can poke Chey into doing it, we’ll send you new pictures of both of them and their baby sister, Freya, that we recently rescued. <3
