It is no secret that I have “sucker” tattooed on my forehead in ink that only animals can see. Because of this, I feed the outdoor kitties. I live in a rural area, and while some of them are feral and unwilling to be approached, others are clearly discards; confused, looking for a person and some love. The ferals I can’t do much about, other than make plans to try to trap, neuter, vax, and release them. The discards I can take in and try to rehome.
So, without further ado: The Registry of Purebred Manor Cats. MC denote Manor Cat, the number that follows is the cat’s serial number, and then an F or M for sex.
MC01F – Ely. Blue and cream tortoiseshell shorthair.
Arrived during Snowpocalypse II: Snowmageddon, and when I say “during” I mean that my Mom and I watched her forge through chest-high snow in the middle of the blizzard to get to the food on my porch. When I opened the door 20 mins later to check food levels, she begged for shelter. She was painfully thin and incredibly worm-ridden. Now at home with my Mom, assisting with sewing and other endeavors.
MC02F – Pixie Lou. Grey tabby and white longhair.
Arrived in mid-February, brought indoors a week later. She was matted and starting to get dirty. Upon taking up residence in my bathroom, the very first thing she did was spend an hour scrubbing her little white feet until they were clean. Now living with two kitty brothers and a small human sister and deviously using her cute to rule the roost.
MC03F -Stinky. Classic tabby shorthair.
Arrived late March, pregnant, and attempted to stare down the dogs from the front yard. I went out and started tossing chicken treats, by the time she was close enough to take them from my hand she had decided we were new best friends. Going to a home with two other kitties to play with.
MC04F – Emmaline. Tabby and white shorthair.
Formerly an outdoor cat, she FINALLY brought me her kittens. I managed to trap 3 out of 4, and then brought her in when the 4th kitten disappeared. Currently an indoor resident of the Manor.
MC05M – Intrepid. Longhair classic tabby and white.
One of Emmaline’s sons, going to a fabulous home in the Tidewater where he will have his new peoples’ undivided attention.
MC06M – Badger. Longhair classic tabby and white.
Another of Emmaline’s sons, headed for the Shenandoah Valley where he will have kitty brothers to play with and a human experienced with feral kitties!
MC07M – Astute. Shorthair grey tabby and white.
Marked just like his Mama Emmaline, but in different colors. Off to Maryland, where he will I am sure quickly wrap his new person around his adorable little white paws!
There used to be a Paypal button here. Happily, circumstances have changed, and unless I get hit with approximately 500 cats simultaneously, we are golden. Thanks SO MUCH for the love and support, both material and emotional!
I think you need to update this!
